Do colleges and training programs need to worry about SEO in the same way that e-commerce or repair services businesses should? Yes, they should.

You would not believe so because they are well-established organizations with hundreds of students and thousands of other applicants each year. However, schools, like other companies, must be concerned with SEO.

In this case study, you’ll see how Snap SEO helped a beauty salon institute in Florida nearly 5X its organic traffic and keyword totals in 15 months!

It was all done by optimizing the institute’s website and setting them up to be an authority in the beauty industry.

Please continue reading below to learn how we did it.

Background

In February 2020, a prominent salon institute in Florida approached us to increase their keywords, online content, and organic traffic. They run a large physical facility that includes a student salon clinic area with dozens of stations for hairstyling, manicures, pedicures, and other services.

The institute’s mission as an accredited college is to assist students in acquiring profitable jobs in the beauty industry by delivering high-quality cosmetology education.

We observed that they didn’t have a blog on their website, which was a wasted opportunity for improving SEO and establishing oneself as an authority. We also discovered that they weren’t ranking for as many keywords or receiving as much traffic as they would have liked.

The SEO Audit

After speaking with the client about their problems and goals, we began our SEO analysis. We undertake this with all new clients: a thorough examination of traffic, keywords, placements, traffic value, and other factors exclusively on all our managed seo plans.

They initially launched their website in June 2017. They couldn’t manage to break over a ceiling of 250 organic monthly visits until they came to us in February 2020.

The institute’s keywords had progressively climbed throughout the first year of utilizing their new website. Still, they remained below 500 until they began working with Snap SEO.

Finally, we saw that they had some success collecting backlinks from websites or publications. Still, we realized that many more would be required to give them the boost they desired.

Taking “Easy Wins” Like Fish In A Barrel

Anyone who has worked in SEO knows that it might take three months or more to see any substantial effects. The issue is that when new clients begin working with us, they expect to see the needle move.

As a result, our second step following the SEO audit is to identify “easy win” keywords. These are keywords for which a client’s website already ranks in positions 4-30. All we need to do is make a few changes to their web copy, and we’ll be able to capitalize on the gains.

We discovered 324 “easy win” keywords at the institute. We looked for keywords with a high search volume but a low keyword difficulty level.

Competitive Gap Analysis

What your competitors are doing may teach you a lot about marketing and advertising.

According to our analysis, this institute’s main rivals were various technical institutions and cosmetology schools around the United States. One of their top ten rivals, for example, was ranking for 3,200 keywords that our client was not.

Snap campaign managers were able to scan through these keywords and discover new ones to incorporate into our client’s SEO strategy. Not every term would work for them, but it was an excellent starting point for brainstorming fresh concepts.

The SEO Campaign

The interesting part came next. After conducting all of our audits and research, we developed and implemented an SEO plan for this client. This plan would have to deal with their lack of keywords as well as their poor website traffic.

We required a long-term plan with access to all Snap products to provide the outcomes our customer desired. We didn’t know if further SEO solutions would be required to meet our goals.

During our engagement with this client, one of the first things we observed was that they did not have a blog. Fortunately, Snap blogger is included in our Snap Managed SEO plan and other popular SEO tools such as Snap Web Copy, Snap Diversified Link Building, and Snap Blogger Outreach.

We assisted the institute in launching their blog and began creating SEO-optimized material through Snap Blogger. Our objective was to position them as experts in the beauty business by including high-ranking keywords in the material.

The client was unsure how Snap Managed SEO would function for their website. It took some time for them to set a plan for posting fresh blog content, but web traffic skyrocketed once the materials were posted to their site.

Results

The campaign, which began in February 2020, lasted a total of 15 months. There was a lag from when the client began uploading the new material we provided, but the rise in organic traffic can be seen in the third month.

How this beauty salon client increased its organic traffic.

It is vital to understand that most SEO strategies, even if new content is submitted promptly, might take months to have any effect.

When the campaign began, the client’s site was receiving little more than 100 visitors per day. They now have around 500 monthly visitors.

The same may be said for their ranking keywords. When the campaign began, they were ranking for roughly 200 keywords, which had been very consistent for years. The graph below shows how their keywords rose to over 1,500 in April 2021.

How our beauty salon client increased their organic keywords to over 1,000.

In the end, we nearly 5xed their organic traffic and nearly 7.5Xed their keyword totals.

While Snap Blogger may have contributed to the growth in keywords and traffic, our campaign managers employed a range of SEO solutions to benefit the client.

And the good news was that all of these products were available to the client under the Snap Managed SEO umbrella.

How do we know that Snap Blogger worked? A simple search of the institute’s site indicated that the top three most popular web pages were blogs written by us. One blog on skincare even ranks in the No. 1 position for its keyword.

The top 1% of writers professionally write our blogs, and ranking keywords are tailored to a client’s overall SEO strategy.

Conclusion

If there is one lesson to be learned from this case study, content is still king. Well-written blogs or site text that is SEO-optimized may boost your ranks and offer you more organic visitors.

This beauty institute discovered the value of a new blog in connecting with prospective students. Nowadays, everyone uses Google to explore colleges or training programs; therefore, it was critical that the client appeared in searches and stood out from the throng.
